Pakistan Government Imposed Sanctions on Dawood Ibrahim

Pakistan for the first time ever has admitted Dawood Ibrahim’s presence on their soil after the government imposed  sanctions on 88 banned terror groups and their leaders which also included the name of most wanted underworld don. According to Pakistani media reports the government in Islamabad has acknowledged the presence of Ibrahim on its soil for the first time ever.

However, there was no official confirmation from the Pakistani government including Ibrahim’s name in the list of terror groups and its leaders on whom fresh restrictions have been imposed. In some media reports of FATF’s grey list, Pakistan on Friday imposed financial sanctions on 88 banned terror groups which included terrorist leaders like Hafiz Saeed, Masood Azhar and Ibrahim, by ordering the seizure of all of their properties and freezing of bank accounts, reported by Pakistani newspaper ‘The News’ on Saturday.

India has repeatedly asked the government of Pakistan to hand over Dawood to India so that he can be summoned for the crimes committed by him. According to intelligence reports Dawood Ibrahim is cureently based in the southern port city of Karachi.
