Tripura Chief Minister Biplob Kumar Dev addressed the people of the state in a video message. On the same he thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for extending the Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana till next November. Addressing the nation on Tuesday Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced free ration items under the Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana till November.
Chief Minister Shri Biplob Kumar Dev opined that this would provide food to a large section of the people of Tripura along with 80 crore poor Indians of the country. At the same time, Chief Minister Biplob Kumar Dev announced a one-day lockdown in the state on Sunday, July 5. He said stage 1 of the corona infection is now underway. He said the decision was taken by the government to realize the restraint of Tripura people for Stage 2 and Stage 3. On that day, Chief Minister Biplob Kumar Deb requested everyone to stay in their respective homes. In a video message to the people of the state, Chief Minister Biplob Kumar Dev said that until November, that is, for the next five months, every person will get 5 kg of rice or wheat and 1 kg of pulses per month. Tripura will benefit from this decision to give for free. The Chief Minister also mentioned that this scheme will cost the Government of India around 90,000 crore.
He said the Prime Minister first announced a package of Rs 3 lakh crore, later he also brought a package of Rs 20 lakh crore. Later in the day, the Prime Minister announced that the Poor Welfare Food Scheme would be continued till November. That is a significant event. This will benefit a large section of Indians. Talking about the Prime Minister’s appeal to the people, Chief Minister Biplob Kumar Dev said that everyone should wear a mask, adhere to social distance, of course follow a distance of two yards.
Chief Minister Biplob Kumar Dev has again requested the people of the state to use masks. At the same time, he advised everyone to follow the hygiene and social awareness. The Chief Minister mentioned that the results are coming in half an hour from the new insects that are being used to test the samples of everyone on the train. He also mentioned that so far more corona positive is being found mostly from Gomti, Sepahijala and South Tripura districts.
