Guwahati: One person was killed while three others sustained severe injuries in a multi-vehicle collision in Guwahati on Tuesday.
The incident took place in the Kamakhya Gate area at around 1:20 pm.
The accident occurred after a speeding Ford Endeavour collided with an Alto and a standing bike. One of the injured was sitting on a parked bike when one of the cars involved in the accident mowed him down. Two other people were said to be aboard the moving Alto.
In the incident, one people died on the spot and three person was severely injured and was sent to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for treatment.
The deceased was identified as Prashant Saxena and the other injured persons were identified as Jyotirmoy Kumar Das, Munmu Talukdar, Dipankar Das.
Meanwhile, Jalukbari Traffic Police has confirmed about the incident and further investigation into the matter is underway. The driver of the Endeavour has been held.
