1 More Construction Labourer of Assam Rescued from Arunachal
Guwahati: One more construction worker from Assam who had vanished in Arunachal Pradesh last week has been found.
The labourer was rescued on Saturday night in the Kurung Kumey district of the neighbouring state, near the Furak River.
According to District Commissioner Kurung Kumey Koloriang, Nighee Bengia, the rescued labourer was discovered in a very severe condition and was consequently taken, along with two other rescued labourers, to the district hospital in Koloriang.
Seven out of the 19 labourers who went missing in Arunachal earlier on Friday were rescued.
Meanwhile, five of the eight individuals required medical attention and were transported by an Indian Air Force (IAF) chopper to Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) in Naharlagun.
As many as 19 persons are missing since July 5 from the project site and the body of one labourer was found in a nearby river.
The workers are said to have abandoned the labour camps at the BRO road construction site in Damin Circle on July 5 after being denied permission to travel home for Eid al-Adha, according to a missing report filed by the contractor who had brought them to the state for work on July 13 and dated July 13.
