Guwahati: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) busted a bakery store for employing children on Tuesday as part of an anti-child labour operation in Jyotikuchi of Guwahati.
Reports state that the operation was carried out at the Ananda Bakery at Shankar Nagar in Jyotikuchi of Guwahati, in response to accusations that the business employed children.
Additionally, the bakery has been accused of violating sanitary regulations after allegations that its kitchen space was musty and unpleasant, and that young workers were working there.
Authorities were aware that the bakery employed at least four minors following the operation.
Moreover, the Childline service was able to remove one minor from the location throughout the operation.
Meanwhile, the owner of the bakery was identified as Raj Narayan Pradhan and further investigation into the matter will be undertaken, officials said.
