Guwahati: A huge amount of illicit drugs has been seized by security forces from Karimganj district of Assam on Sunday.
One person has been arrested in connection to it.
The arrestee identified as Iqbal Hussain.
The Border Security Force along with Assam police in a joint operation conducted a raid at Kanishail area and recovered as many as 20,000 Yaba tablets.
Following the seizure, Iqbal Hussain was taken into custody.
According to reports, the market price of the recovered drugs is around Rs 1 crore.
Meanwhile, a legal proceeding has been initiated and an investigation to unearth further linkages is underway.
