103 gold biscuits and foreign currency seized by Guwahati Customs at India-Bhutan border, three held
Guwahati, 31st January: Guwahati Customs authorities have confiscated 103 gold biscuits, weighing 2.60 kg and valued at Rs 1.32 crores, at the India-Bhutan border near Darranga LCS, Assam. The operation also led to the seizure of foreign currency worth Rs. 2.27 lakhs and Rs 1.12 lakhs.
In a parallel development on January 30, Assam police cracked down on drug trafficking in the Cachar district, resulting in substantial seizures. A Cachar district police operation led to the arrest of two individuals and the confiscation of 460 grams of Methamphetamine and 1.531 kg of heroin. The police intercepted a vehicle at Loknathpur, Bhaga, Dholai, based on intelligence received, revealing 50 soap boxes containing heroin and methamphetamine tablets hidden in secret chambers.
