12 Days of Development: Assam’s Kokrajhar Witnesses Distribution of Financial Aid
Assam: As part of the ambitious “12 Days of Development” initiative launched by Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, a ceremonial distribution of financial aid took place today at the Bodofa Cultural Complex in Kokrajhar. The event aimed to provide targeted support to individuals and communities through various welfare schemes.
MLA Lawrence Islary, presiding as Chief Guest, distributed financial assistance to 331 beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme, providing seed capital to encourage entrepreneurship. Additionally, ‘No Dues Certificates’ were issued to 119 borrowers under the Assam Microfinance Incentive and Relief Scheme (Category-III, Phase-II), offering significant debt relief to Kokrajhar residents.
A key highlight was the provision of financial aid to 4,586 individuals affected by recent disasters, covering losses in agriculture, house damage, and damages to clothing and utensils. This comprehensive relief package aims to mitigate hardships and support recovery efforts.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Lawrence Islary lauded Chief Minister Sarma’s leadership, emphasizing the government’s commitment to inclusive development through these initiatives. He noted that the financial aid will empower individuals and foster economic stability, ensuring sustainable growth in Kokrajhar.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including ADC Kabita Deka, Nitya Binod Warie, senior officials of the District Administration, and other key stakeholders, marking a significant step in the government’s ongoing efforts to uplift the region.
