Guwahati: In yet another shocking incident, a minor boy was allegedly repeatedly raped at a madrasa in North Delhi after being drugged by ulema, police said on Thursday.
The accused, aged 24, is reportedly on the run and police teams have been dispatched to apprehend him.
The victim’s parents filed a First Information Report (FIR) on Wednesday.
In the FIR, the parents claimed that their son had been sexually assaulted by ulema that had called him to his room, drugged him, and then repeatedly raped him.
The 12-year-old victim was studying at the madrasa since August 2021.
DCP North Sagar Singh Kalsi said, “We lodged an FIR after the complainant alleged that the boy was sodomised multiple times. The accused is still at large. We will nab him soon.”
“The boy has been living at the madrasa for months and studies there. He told us that his teacher was raping him. He went home with his father who came to see him this week and shared his ordeal with them. They approached us and we lodged a case. The matter is being investigated,” he added.
The Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POSCO) Act of 2012, criminal intimidation, and unnatural offences of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) have all been filed against the accused as a result of the complaint.
