13 Killed & 10 Missing After Landslides Hit Nepal

Guwahati: As many as 13 people dead and 10 more missing Landslides struck several areas of Nepal’s Achham district on Saturday

Deputy Chief District Officer Dipesh Rijal said, “At least 13 dead, 10 missing and 10 rescued from various parts of Achham District in far West Nepal, due to landslides.”

Floods and landslides have occurred in Nepal as a result of the constant rain.

Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand has directed the dispatch of helicopters for search and rescue efforts following the disaster.

The Lasku and Mahakali Rivers flooded as a result of the constant rain, destroying numerous homes and two bridges in the process.

A police spokeswoman reported that rescuers had extricated the deceased and injured from the five houses’ ruins in Achham, which is located around 450 kilometres (281 miles) west of Kathmandu, the capital city.

Officials added that the injured had been sent quickly to a hospital close by.
