135 Special Invitees from Assam to Attend 76th Republic Day Parade in Delhi
Guwahati: A group of 135 individuals from Assam, including entrepreneurs, farmers, officials, and beneficiaries of government schemes, will attend the 76th Republic Day parade in New Delhi as special invitees.
The initiative aims to foster greater public participation, or “Jan Bhagidari,” in events of national significance, according to an official statement.
These attendees, representing diverse sectors and achievements, will join approximately 10,000 special guests from across India.
The inclusivity of the event underscores recognition of the contributions made by individuals from various walks of life, including women, youth, farmers, and entrepreneurs.
Among the invitees is Dhubri farmer Niresh Chandra Barman, who expressed his pride and gratitude for the opportunity. “It is a moment of immense honour to represent Assam at such a significant national event. I would like to thank PM Modi for giving me this opportunity,” he said.
Entrepreneur Reena Daimary from Goalpara, who runs a piggery farm and cake-making business, also shared her appreciation.
She credited government support for her entrepreneurial journey and described the invitation as a special recognition of her efforts.
The list of attendees includes beneficiaries of government schemes such as ‘Lakhpati Didi’ and ‘PM Surya Ghar.’ Sabita Terongpi from Biswanath and Pramod Saikia from Mangaldai, who have benefitted from these initiatives, are among those attending.
Raju Uraon, a forester grade-I with the Kaziranga Eastern Assam Wildlife Division, is another invitee. He expressed his gratitude to the Kaziranga Authority, the Assam government, and the central government for the honour.
In addition to witnessing the Republic Day parade, these special invitees will explore iconic landmarks in Delhi, including the National War Memorial and the PM Sangrahalaya. They will also have the opportunity to interact with Union ministers, adding a meaningful dimension to their visit, the statement said.
