15 Opposition Parties in Assam to Support Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra

Guwahati, 9th January: The united forum of 15 opposition parties in Assam, including the Congress, known as the United Opposition Forum Assam (UOFA), has pledged support for Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.’

This movement, led by Rahul Gandhi, is scheduled to commence on January 14 from Manipur, with its Assam leg taking place from January 18 to January 25.

The UOFA, part of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA), consists of various political entities, including the Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP), Raijor Dal, CPI(M), CPI, NCP, RJD, JD(U), TMC, CPI(ML), and AAP.

The collective aim is to challenge the BJP and AIUDF, with details about the opposition parties’ involvement in the yatra expected to be finalized soon.

The decision to back the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ was made during a virtual meeting of forum leaders, as announced by Lurinjyoti Gogoi, president of the AJP and general secretary of the UOFA.

Representatives from these parties plan to meet with Rahul Gandhi during the event, marking a significant episode in the ongoing political narrative of India.
