Guwahati: The Guwahati police busted an inter-state drugs network and arrested one peddler from the Lokhra area of the city.
As many as 16,000 Yaba tablets along with 47 grams of suspected heroin and Rs 47,000 in cash were also recovered from the suspected smuggler.
Based on specific information, team from Gorchuk PS arrested the accused.
The arrestee identified as Anowar Hussain, a resident from Barpeta.
According to reports, a weighing machine and a mobile phone were also found from his hideout in Pubsarania by the officials.
While the exact worth of the seized Yaba tablets was not disclosed by the police, reports claimed that the consignment may be worth more than Rs 48 lakh on the international market.
Meanwhile, a legal proceeding has been initiated and further investigation is underway.
