17 IEC vans for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra flagged off by Mizoram Governor

Northeast Desk, 17th December: Mizoram Governor, Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, inaugurated 17 IEC mobile vans as part of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) in an event held at the MINECO Open Gym, Aizawl.

This initiative followed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s video conference launch of the VBSY scheme for Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Mizoram.

The Aizawl event was supervised by Dr. Lalmalsawma Pachuau, Secretary, Planning & Programme Implementation Dept., and State Nodal Officer for Visksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra. It saw the active participation of stakeholder departments and selected beneficiaries.

The primary objective of the scheme is to achieve full saturation of welfare programs through comprehensive outreach efforts. Among the 17 IEC vans, three will be deployed in Aizawl district, two in Lunglei district, and the remaining nine districts will each receive one mobile van.

Additionally, there are standby vans, including a spare van and a recovery van. A district-level committee for the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra has been established, and schedules for outreach activities have been finalized. The comprehensive outreach is scheduled to conclude on January 26th, 2024.
