Assam: Fake Certificate Racket Busted, 1 Nabbed

Guwahati: Assam Police has arrested one person in connection with a racket of fake certificates in Assam’s Nagaon district.

The accused was identified as Maqbool Hussain and another accused in the case named Khalek who is said to be the mastermind behind the racket is still on run.

Police informed that around 12 thousand fake certificates including college, school, university, birth, death, land and many more were recovered from the accused.

Sharing the news on Twitter Assam’s Director General of Police Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta wrote, “Schools, colleges, universities, even treasury, deposits, births or deaths and other fake certificates have been recovered. One of the accused, Maqbool Hussain, has been arrested, the main accused named Khalek is still absconding. We have recovered 10-12 thousand fake certificates so far.”

The police announced that the further investigation into the matter is still on.
