Assam: CID registered case against 36 fake Teachers

Guwahati: A case has been registered against at least 36 teachers from Assam who got jobs by submitting fake Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) certificates in Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). The case has been filed by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Assam.

Following a statement issued by the police officials that some teachers from BTR used forged TET certificates to get the jobs, the Assam’s Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma directed CID Assam to register the case against the accused.

An investigation was conducted by the special team of CID to probe the matter in which several accused were brought to the CID headquarters from various districts of Assam to interrogate and verify the certificates.

Deputy inspector general of police (CID) Debaraj Upadhaya informed that the certificates submitted by the accused showed that the candidates were eligible and qualified for the post even if they had failed in that particular test.

It may be mentioned that Sarma further stated that all the people who were identified to used fake certificates to get the jobs will be arrested.

However, further investigation into the case is still on.
