1st Multiplex Opens After 3 Decades in Kashmir
Guwahati: Kashmir’s first-of-its-kind multiplex opened its doors on Tuesday after being closed down for three decades.
Lieutenant General Manoj Sinha of Jammu and Kashmir opened a multiplex with a 520-person capacity that was created by INOX using cutting-edge technology in the Shivpora area of Srinagar district.
Kashmir is will now get the opportunity to watch movies on a big screen after it was closed down in the 1990s.
LTG Sinha said, “Our top priorities are to empower young people by providing them with access to quality education, employment, and health infrastructure. These kinds of efforts will not only assist in creating jobs, but will also give our young people social security.”
The Chairman of the project, Vijay Dhar said, “This was a project of passion. My capacity for joy is limitless. We appreciate LG Sir for officially opening the Multiplex. Every task has been completed in full. Lal Singh Chaddha will be the subject of a special showing. For locals, the multiplex will open on October 1.”
The designer of the multiplex, Amit Katyal said, “We made this Multiplex with INOX standards depicting the local culture of Kashmir. We have designed an INOX logo depicting the art and culture of Kashmir. In June this year, the project started. Lobby interiors, box office and food courts were designed by our team in accordance with INOX standards. A change will happen in Kashmir with this multiplex.”
It should be noted that Jammu and Kashmir was once a popular filming location, but this decreased in the 1990s as a result of the area’s insurgency.
