Guwahati: Guwahati Police arrested two persons in the elderly woman murder case which took place on Monday in the Kalapahar area of Guwahati.
According to reports, the police had detained several people in the case for interrogation among which two people were found guilty and arrested by the police officials.
However, two more names have been revealed in the interrogation who were absconding.
Police informed that a search operation into the case is on to nab the culprits.
The 60-year-old woman was identified as Anu Hazarika. Anu was the owner of the Hira Complex located in Gopinath Nagar
According to reports, some unknown miscreants murdered her in mid-night at her residence and after killing Anu they reportedly stole cash and golden jewelleries from her house.
Reports further claimed that the miscreants also destroyed the CCTV cameras and furniture in the house.
It may be mentioned that Anu had been living alone in the house for the last five years after her husband passed away.
