Guwahati: Two web portal journalists were arrested for extortion on Saturday in the Dhemaji district of Assam.
The journalists have been identified as Amit Kumbang and Suruj Pandey.
According to reports, the duo allegedly requested a total of Rs. 10,000 from a Silapathar contractor.
A complaint has been made by the contractor at the Simen Chapori Police Station in Dhemaji.
The case is currently being investigated by the police.
