Guwahati: Two youths were killed as their vehicle plunged into a pond at Laluk near North Lakhimpur district of Assam on Sunday morning.
According to reports, the vehicle was travelling at a fast pace when it lost control and crashed into the pond. The youths may have drowned because they were unable to exit the vehicle in time.
The deceased have been identified as Anarul Islam and Noor Mohammad.
It is learned that three more persons were injured in the accident; however, the exact cause is yet to be ascertained.
The two were travelling from Laluk to Tezpur in the Sonipur district.
Locals were able to rescue the bodies and pull the Creta out of the pond after the incident.
Later, police reached the scene and sent the bodies for post-mortem.
