2 Minor Girls from Assam Rescued in Delhi

Guwahati: Two minor girls from Assam who had gone missing last week have benn rescued by Delhi Police on Tuesday.

The two minor girls had reportedly been missing in Assam since July 29. The search operation started when the families of the girls filed a complaint.

The two girls were rescued in an operation that was jointly carried out by the Northeast section of Delhi police and Assam police.

Officials stated that the girls were suspected to be trafficking victims. They are residents of Rowta town in Assam’s Udalguri district.

Police rescued them from New Delhi railway station. Officials informed that they will soon be sent home.

Investigations are being conducted in the meanwhile to find and apprehend those responsible for transporting the minor girls to Delhi.
