Guwahati: Landslides in Goalpara district of Assam have claimed the lives of two children.
The incident took place at Azadnagar area of Goalpara at around 6 am on Thursday.
According to reports, the children who died were siblings. They have been identified as Hussain Ali and Asma Khatun.
Reportedly, torrential rains caused a part of the land to fall, killing the two toddlers on the scene.
The remains of the two deceased toddlers were recovered by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES), and police shortly after the tragedy.
The bodies of the deceased duo have been transferred to the Goalpara Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
