2 Villagers Injured Seriously In Tiger Attack In Assam

Guwahati: Two persons were seriously injured in an attack by a tiger in Nagaon district of Assam.

The incident took place in Samuguri village of the district.

According to reports, the two persons sustained severe injuries and were immediately admitted to a hospital.

The injured persons have been identified as Nursing Orang and Daniel Har. 

Reportedly, Nursing Orang suffered serious injuries while trying to protect Daniel from the tiger. Nursing spotted Daniel being mauled by the tiger as he was on his way to his paddy field. Nursing fought with the tiger to save Daniel but was himself injured. 

Locals say that the tiger that is missing its cub has been roving the Bardal area for a considerable amount of time. Village residents are gripped with fear.

Most farmers raise animals and they are reluctant to let their cows, goats and buffaloes graze in open fields.
