Guwahati: At least 22 passengers were rescued after a ferry boat overturned on Thursday at the Subansiri River close to Lakhimpur.
According to reports, the boat was travelling from Esarkota in Lakhimpur to Khoga when it abruptly capsized, killing all of its occupants.
On the ferry boat, three motorcycles also fell into the river.
The cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained.
No casualties had been reported up until the time this report was filed.
