3 Killed, 27 Including Cops Injured In Suicide Blast At Pakistan’s Quetta

Guwahati: Three people have already died as a result of the Quetta suicide bombing in Pakistan’s Balochistan region; additionally, 27 people, including 23 police officers, are said to have been injured.

The injured woman passed away while receiving treatment, according to the police, who provided an update on the death toll. According to the hospital management, the majority of the injured patients are not in danger, according to Geo News.

According to Quetta’s deputy inspector general, Ghulam Azfar Mahesar, the explosion was a suicide attack because they discovered the remnants of a suicide bomber close to the crime scene.

According to him, the explosion caused the police truck to overturn, and it then plunged into a ravine.

The initial statement from the law enforcement agency said that the explosion was intended to damage a police truck. According to them, the hurt police officers and citizens were taken urgently to a hospital nearby, according to Geo News.

As soon as the incident was reported, police and rescue personnel flocked to the explosion scene. The bomb disposal team was also contacted for assistance.

The cop was killed as a result of being crushed under the truck as it fell into the ravine, according to DIG Mehsar, who also provided information about the casualties and civilian vehicles damaged.

He claimed that about 20 police officers and four civilians had been hurt. Two of the officers are in serious condition, he continued.

According to the DIG, the explosion destroyed three vehicles, including the police truck, as well as two surrounding cars, according to Geo News.

He said that the police truck was transporting the officers assigned to the ongoing polio drive’s continued security of polio workers. He added that the attack employed between 20 to 25 kg of explosives.

While condemning the assault, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah announced that he had requested a report on the event from the Balochistan Government.

President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif both denounced the terrorist act in separate statements, according to Geo News.

PM Shehbaz Sharif gave directions for the greatest medical care to be given to the injured and ordered an immediate investigation into the situation.

He added that the Pakistani nation and LEAs would not permit the evil elements’ efforts to be successful in halting the polio eradication campaign, according to Geo News.

Meanwhile, President Alvi expressed sorrow over the deaths.

“Children are our country’s most important resource and future. We’re committed to protecting the kids from diseases like polio “He promised to keep up the fight against polio until the disease has been eradicated entirely from the nation.

The president also prayed for the deceased’s forgiveness and the healing of the injured while paying gratitude to the police and polio workers.
