Guwahati: At least three students of Sualkuchi Angels English School were injured when a window grille fell along with chunk of concrete on Saturday.
All three students were brought to Sualkuchi’s Mahatma Gandhi 30 Bedded Rural Hospital (FRU), but the hospital’s doctors referred them to Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) for further treatment.
According to reports, all three students suffering head injuries required stitches.
The claimed window grille within the classroom belonging to the injured student’s parents was in poor condition and was only half-built.
Meanwhile, representatives of the All-Assam Students’ Union (AASU) in Sualkuchi urged the school administration to ensure the safety of students on school grounds.
“The windows grill that fell on the students was under construction, according to our information,” an AASU leader said.
