Guwahati: In a major haul by the Government Railway Police Force (GRPF) a sizable quantity of gold was seized at the Guwahati Railway Station on Sunday.
Officials informed that based on specific inputs of gold being smuggled the raids were conducted.
A portion of the entire quantity confiscated included gold bars weighing roughly 300 grams and approximately to be worth over Rs 16 lakhs.
Meanwhile, authorities stated they had arrested a person on suspicion of smuggling the gold. An investigation in this regard has been initiated.
The suspect in the case has been brought in for interrogation.
