31 Dogs Seized In Assam’s Bokakhat
Guwahati: As many as 31 dogs have been seized by Bokakhat police from Kuruwabahi in Bokakhat on Friday.
The domestic dog breed was taken off the side of the road and had its lips and legs wrapped in sacks.
However, the police are currently at a loss as to how and where to keep them. The authorities have not yet investigated into who was responsible for the smuggling and where the dogs came from.
Despite the fact that it is against Indian law to kill and eat dogs, this practise persists in Nagaland and other Northeastern states where dog meat is valued for its great nutritional and therapeutic benefits.
