Guwahati: In the last fortnight, the Assam Police stated that they have seized a total of 3372 bottles and cans of illegal Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) from different locations of Guwahati.
The Assam Police in a statement said that based on a specific input initiated a search operation at a parking lot named Pooja Parking in Betkuchi. During this operation, the police team raiding the lot recovered 20 cartons of beer of a specific brand.
In another similar raid, a team of police initiated another raid at a restaurant named Raju Dhaba near the highway, and from this raid, the police succeeded in seizing at least 90 bottles of IMFL illegally stored in the said location. The police informed that the bottles of the liquor were stored in a car.
The police further informed that in similar cases, several other raids were conducted. During these raids, many more recoveries were made resulting in a huge cache of illegally stored liquor being seized.
