Guwahati: At least 35 school students have been hospitalised after they may have consumed food poisoning at a mid-day meal in Tripura.
The students were from the English Medium Junior Basic School at Longtharai Valley subdivision in Chawmanu area in the Dhalai district of Tripura.
Following the incident, the district’s chief medical officer issued an order for the testing of all prepared foods, vegetables, and other kitchen supplies.
Meanwhile, doctors have suspected that the cooked meal may have caused food poisoning.
It has been reported that students had complained about the stale food, and some of them had even told their parents that the Khichdi that had been provided to them had gone bad and stank.
