Guwahati: Four persons including an Imam have been arrested for allegedly vandalizing and looting a Hindu temple in Bangladesh’s Kishoreganj district.
The arrested persons have been identified as Mamunur Rashid, Kafil Uddin, and two teenagers aged 15 and 16.
According to reports, the accused entered the temple, destroyed five idols, and then departed. The incident occurred as the worshippers were preparing for the final idol immersion ritual during the festival of Durga Puja.
It may be mentioned that the incident took place on 15 October at the Kali Mandir in Kadim Maijhati area in which at least four persons lost their lives and 70 others were injured in the last three days.
And reports further stated that the attack was led by Rashid, who is an Imam.
