Guwahati: At least four persons and three injured in a road accident in Darrang district of Assam on Tuesday.
The incident took place at around 5:30 am in the College Chowk area of the Sipajhar town.
The four deceased identified as Joimati Baruah, Indajul Haque, Jintumani Ahmed and Sangita Deka Sarma.
The accident occurred after a speeding truck bearing registration numbers AS 11 BC 1555 hit them while they were out on a morning walk.
As per the sources of MyNewsNE, they were walking along the roadside when the Mangaldoi-Guwahati bound vehicle hit the victims.
In the incident, three died on the spot and the injured were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital.
One of the injured died while being brought to the GMCH.
It needs to be mentioned that driver of the truck has fled from the spot.
