4 More people die due to Japanese Encephalitis in Assam

Guwahati: At least Four persons have lost their lives due to japanese encephalitis (JE) taking a death toll to 27 this month in Assam.

The four deceased were reported from Jorhat district of Assam.

As per report release issued by the National health mission (NHM) the death toll has risen to 27 this month.

Reportedly the total number of people affected with japanese encephalitis this month has impale to 169 following with new infections in the state.

Meanwhile, out of the nine cases three cases were reported from Golaghat district of Assam.

Two each from Sivasagar and Sonitpur and one from Goalpara and Kokrajhar districts.

According to authorities, all of the districts are following the standard operating procedures (SOPs) and directives for AES/JE case detection, management, and referral that the NHM has provided.
