4 Out Of 19 Assam Labourers who went Missing In Arunachal Return
Guwahati: Four construction workers from Assam who were among the 19 people reported missing in Arunachal Pradesh have returned to the Border Roads Organization (BRO) camp on Saturday.
At least 19 labourers from Assam who were working on building projects in Arunachal Pradesh have gone missing for more than two weeks.
Four of them have been identified and 15 more are still unaccounted for.
It may be noted that security forces, such as the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), are working on rescue missions.
Only four of the employees from Assam have been found despite last week’s initiation of search and rescue operations along the India-China border in the Kurung Kumey district of Arunachal Pradesh.
The workers are said to have abandoned the labour camps at the BRO road construction site in Damin Circle on July 5 after being denied permission to travel home for Eid al-Adha, according to a missing report filed by the contractor who had brought them to the state for work on July 13 and dated July 13.
Meanwhile, police have filled a case against the contractor, who is from Lakhimpur in Assam.
Moreover, the workers reportedly came from the state’s Kokrajhar and Dhubri districts.
