4 terrorists killed as security forces foil infiltration bid in J&K

National Desk, 23 June: As many as four terrorists were killed by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police in a joint operation on Friday in Kala Jungle at Machhal district of Jammu and Kashmir. According to J-K police, the terrorists were killed when they attempted to enter from Pakistan occupied Kashmir.

Jammu and Kashmir police tweeted, “In a joint operation, Army and Police have killed four #terrorists in Kala Jungle of Machhal sector in #Kupwara who were trying to infiltrate to our side from POJK.”

In the Bijbhera region of Jammu and Kashmir earlier on Thursday, Anantnag Police detained two terrorists connected to the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and seized weapons and ammunition, according to police.

Additionally, the cops seized one grenade, 12 AK 47 rounds and Rs 1 lakh from their possession. The Anantnag Police have filed the complaint in accordance with the pertinent statutes at the police station in Bijbehara.

In a significant operation on June 16, the Joint Security Forces in Jammu and Kashmir killed five highly skilled foreign terrorists from the JK Ghaznavi Force (JKGF) who were attempting to cross into Indian territory in the Jumagund region near the Line of Control (LoC).

Thursday night, terrorists with experience in guerilla warfare in the Afghan-Pakistan theatre attempted to cross into Indian territory in the Jumagund rarea of the Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir.
