4 women arrested for assaulting police officer in Assam’s Hailakandi
Guwahati: Four women was arrested from Algapur area in Hailakandi district of Assam in connection with an assault of police officer on Thursday.
According to reports, police constable Aftab Uddin Laskar and Homeguard Jiaur Rahman Barbhuiya were allegedly beaten up by a group of people in the Bakrihawar village’s XI part while issuing a summons to a resident in connection with a case on Tuesday night.
The injured officers were immediately taken to the Algapur police station and then they were shifted to a nearby hospital for better treatment.
Meanwhile, officer in charge of Algapur police station, Mrinal Kumar Das informed that searches are being conducted in the area.
He further stated that all locals engaged in the assault case of police personnel will be arrested.
It may be mentioned that further investigation into the matter is underway.
