40 arrested After Communal Clash Over Religious Flag In Gujarat
Fourty persons were arrested following a racial altercation that occurred at a vegetable market in Vadodara’s Savli town on Monday.
“40 arrests. Due to the impending Muslim holiday, a local organisation has strung their religious flag from an electrical pole. A temple is close by “said PR Patel of the Vadodra Rural Police.
A fight broke out after another local group went to express how their religious sensibilities were harmed. Vehicles in the area were damaged as a result of stone throwing.
Both sides’ accused have been taken into custody, and a FIR has been lodged.
Patrolling is being done, and the situation is under control, according to Vadodra police.
An altercation between two clans in the Karnataka village of Hulihyder earlier in August resulted in two fatalities and six injuries.
After a Hindu lad went to visit a Muslim girl on the occasion of Muharram, disputes between the two groups erupted, leading to the fights.
Pasha Walli (22) and Yenakapaa Talavad (60), two individuals who perished in the purported communal clash, died as a result of their injuries and passed away in the hospital.
Immediately after that, members of the two villages joined them and began fighting. Eight people have now been hurt as a result of the altercation.
The local administration had imposed Section 144 in the area.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
