42nd India International Trade Fair Commemorates Assam Day with Vibrant Celebrations

Guwahati, 22nd November: Celebrations mark Assam Day at the ongoing 42nd India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2023 at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi on November 22.

Minister for Industries and Commerce, Public Enterprises and Cultural Affairs Departments, Bimal Borah is slated to be the chief guest for today’s festivities.

Amphitheatre 1 will host a series of programs from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, showcasing Assam’s rich cultural heritage. Various dance forms, including Satriya, Jhumur, Hajong, Bihu, and performances by artists Bhrigu Kashyap and Ridip Rankit, are set to enthrall the audience.

The Assam Pavilion, inaugurated on November 14 by Dr. Ravi Kota, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Government of Assam, highlights government initiatives like One District One Product, promotion of GI products, and traditional Assamese attire.

The pavilion accommodates government departments/PSUs, MSME units, and Start-Ups, featuring a diverse array of offerings. Shantanu Deori, Joint Director at the Commissionerate of Industries and Commerce, Government of Assam, serves as the Pavilion Director.

Under the overarching theme ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – United by Trade,’ this year’s IITF will run until November 27, providing a platform to showcase Assam’s cultural richness and economic initiatives.
