Guwahati: In the ongoing war against drugs in the state, Guwahati Police seized a huge quantity of Zava tablets from Azara in the outskirts of Guwahati.
Moreover, the police officials further arrested five persons in the connection.
The accused have been identified as Ali Ahmed, Mohammad Khan, Baharul Alam, Nazimul Miya and Jiyadul Islam.
According to reports, the consignment of drugs was being smuggled to Bangladesh from Manipur and was arrested from a hotel in Azara.
Reportedly, more than 50 thousand Zava tablets has been seized from their possession.
Police officials informed that the market price of the recovered drugs is around Rs 4 crores.
Meanwhile, a legal proceeding has been initiated and further investigation is underway.
