Guwahati: In a tragic incident, at least five people were killed while 20 others were severely injured in a road accident in Suryapet of Telangana on Sunday.
The incident took place at the national highway in the Munagala area in the early hours of Sunday.
According to reports, the mishap occurred after a lorry collided with a tractor.
Reportedly, the deceased also include a minor as well.
The deceased identified as Thenneru Prameela (35), Chinthakayala Prameela (33), Uday Lokesh (8), Naragoni Kotaiah (55) and Gundu Jyothi (38).
Reportedly, they were all coming back home from a pooja when the tragedy took place.
All were reportedly travelling in the trailer of the tractor.
The lorry that struck them was travelling from the opposite direction when they allegedly entered the Hyderabad-Vijaywada national highway in the wrong direction.
In addition to the deceased, more than 20 other people were injured.
Meanwhile, the injured persons were immediately rushed to a hospital for better treatment.
