5 Suspected Human Trafficking Victims Rescued, One Held
Guwahati: Foiling a suspected human trafficking bid, at least five girls belonging from Assam were rescued from New Delhi.
The five girls reportedly hail from Rongapar area in Sonitpur district.
It is learned that the girls were missing since September this year.
The matter came to light after their families filed a missing complaint at Rongapar police station.
The girls were rescued from various locations by the Assam police and their Delhi counterpart along with voluntary organizations.
According to reports, the girls were reportedly rescued from Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Haryana and South Delhi.
Meanwhile, police arrested one person in connection with the incident.
The arrestee identified as Bhadra Orang.
Further investigation is underway.
