Guwahati: A senior citizen was detained on suspicion of kidnapping and raping a 14-year-old girl in the Cachar district of Assam.
As per reports, the 60-year-old accused had been regularly raping her for three months.
The suspect has been identified as Joynarayan Goreri.
Goreri was taken into custody after a complaint was filed by the victim’s father against him.
According to the victim, the accused reportedly kidnapped her three months ago.
Before being brought to Cachar, she allegedly was forced to take drugs.
She was just rescued from the accused house on Wednesday, despite the family having filed a complaint with the police back then.
The matter is now under investigation.
