65-year-old patient goes missing from GMCH

Guwahati: In a shocking incident, a patient from the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) has reportedly gone missing.

The patient has been identified as 65-year-old Dilip Das, a resident of Rongamati in Assam’s Dergaon.

According to reports, the patient was admitted to the hospital’s emergency room on the evening of August 1 (Monday). The patient was receiving treatment for a right leg injury sustained during an alleged physical assault at his Dergaon home.

According to the superintendent of GMCH, Dr. Abhijit Sarma stated that the patient had been released from the hospital on August 3 (Wednesday) against medical advice.

Sarma said, “the patient insisted repeatedly that his family members return home since he did not want to receive therapy. His wife and son were with him in the hospital. The patient was released from the hospital on Wednesday against medical advice. He has been missing ever since.”

“We’ve reported this to the police. We have also examined the CCTV recordings in which the suspect was spotted moving through the hospital’s hallways, Sarma added.
