Guwahati: At least seven athletes from Assam won gold medals on Saturday in Meghalaya at the Northeast Olympics 2022.
Anshuman Kashyap of Assam won the gold medal in the men’s 100m breaststroke and Disha Gogoi of Assam won the women’s 100m breaststroke.
Adrija Rani Chetia also won silver medal in the category.
Jananjay In the men’s 50m backstroke, Jyoti Hazarika took home the silver medal and Aditya Thapa the bronze.
They also took home medals in the men’s 100m butterfly. Silver went to Thapa, while gold went to Hazarika.
Darshita Baruah took home the gold and Krishnali Doley took home the bronze in the women’s 50-meter backstroke.
Sonali Basumatary also won a gold medal in archery. The gold medal was also won by Samaina Basumatary.
The Assam squad also won the gold in badminton’s team mixed division.
Assam has won a total of 37 medals thus far, including 17 gold, 11 silver, and 9 bronze.
