7 Including 2 Children sustain burn injuries after fire breaks in Guwahati
Guwahati: A massive fire broke out in Rehabari locality of Guwahati on Saturday.
As per the preliminary information, seven persons including two children sustained severe burn injuries after a cylinder blast triggered in the locality.
The incident took place at Bilpar in the Rehabari locality.
Meanwhile, fire tenders were rushed to the spot after they received information of the incident.
Reports stated that rescue efforts are still ongoing.
The injured persons were immediately rushed to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for better treatment.
They have been identified as Soma Das (53), Shankar Mallick (56), Mukul Moni Das (54), Sanjay Kar (46), Manjit Kar (10), Amarjeet Das (15) and Sanjay Malakar (43).
Manjit Kar and Amarjeet Das both suffered severe burn injuries, with Kar suffering 65–70% mixed flame burns and Das suffering 70–75% mixed flame burns, according to doctors at GMCH.
