7 kg cocaine worth Rs 70 crore seized by DRI at Mumbai international airport, 4 carriers arrested

National Desk, 18th October: In a commendable operation, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) at Mumbai International Airport has successfully thwarted multiple smuggling attempts, resulting in the seizure of a substantial 7 kilograms of cocaine with an estimated street value of Rs 70 crore.

This significant victory against narcotics trafficking unfolded in connection with the arrest of four carriers, which included two foreign nationals, in separate incidents, as reported by reliable sources.

Notably, the DRI’s Mumbai zonal unit unearthed more than illicit drugs during these operations. They also discovered a firearm along with five rounds of ammunition in possession of one of the accused who failed to provide the necessary legal documentation for the weapon. Following the discovery, local authorities were promptly informed and the firearm was turned over to the police for further investigation.
