7 Rohingyas Detained By Tripura Police For Illegally Entering India

Guwahati: As many as Rohingya immigrants has been detained by Tripura Police for illegally entering the country on Friday.

According to reports, the Rohingya immigrants crossed the Sonamura border into India from Bangladesh.

The Rohingya immigrants were detained by Tripura Police at a checkpoint on the Agartala-Assam highway.

Reportedly, the Tripura police detained as many as three women.

Those arrestees identified as Md Ekbal Hussain (60), Abdul Gafur (30), Azim Ullah (22), Md Jahangir Alam (20), Jannat Ara (21), Sadiya Begam (19) and Dilbahar Begam (45).

The police added that the illegal Rohingya immigrants intended to enter Bengaluru using forged citizenship credentials obtained from local sources.
