7 Traffickers Including Minor Arrested By Assam Police

Guwahati: As many as seven human traffickers including a minor were arrested by the Assam Police on Saturday during an operation in the Udalguri district.

Officer-in-Charge of Paneri Police Station Sanjib Tareng reportedly oversaw the operation where surprising and secret information were discovered.

A lot of illegal human trafficking was taking place in Paneri where young women and minors were being sold at Rs. 80,000-90,000 on written contracts.

These traffickers were residing at nearby tea estates.

Notably, authorities in Arunachal Pradesh managed to rescue as many as 12 young from Zero.

The traffickers identify themselves as guardians of the victims and sell them under written agreements.

Police also seized various more documents, vehicles, and contract paperwork during the raid.

A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
