7-Year-Old Killed in Wall Collapse at Under-Construction Site in Guwahati’s Hatigaon

Guwahati, 20th September: A seven-year-old child, identified as Hasid Akhtar Ahmed, tragically lost his life when a wall from an under-construction building partially collapsed in Guwahati’s Hatigaon area. The incident occurred while Ahmed, a student at Blue Bell School, was playing with three other children near the construction site.

According to local residents, the wall crumbled, striking Ahmed, who was rushed to Gauhati Medical College. Despite efforts, doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

Locals have accused the contractors of substandard construction practices and violations of building regulations, particularly the failure to maintain proper spacing between structures. They are calling for the building to be demolished to prevent future accidents.

Hatigaon police have launched an investigation, identifying a person named Pappu as being responsible for the construction. Further details are awaited as authorities continue to probe the incident.
