Guwahati: A total of 75 cattle heads were rescued by Assam police at Nagaon district on Monday night.
According to reports, the cattle heads were rescued from two pickup trucks that were intercepted at Kaliabor of national highway no 37.
Reportedly, two cattle smugglers were also arrested in connection to it.
The arrestees identified as Nurul Hussain and Wahidul Islam.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered under relevant sections against the two apprehended persons. Further investigation is underway.
It needs to be mentioned that Assam police has been successfully thwarting several such cattle smuggling bids across the state.
